The BBG was founded in 2006 with the objective of unifying and strengthening Brazilian and non-Brazilian professionals and business people.

Acting for over 15 years with the purpose of growing and contributing.

To grow and contribute is one of the main purposes of BBG - Brazilian Business Group. The right place to be a part of when it comes down to building strong business relationships, refining skills and generating positive results.

With 15 years of history, BBG has taken the entrepreneurial community in South Florida to the next level by promoting companies and professionals that, although operating in different areas, have the same mission: To solve customer needs and surprise them with diligence, commitment, and an innovative attitude. That's the DNA of the BBG.

The Brazilian Business Group is a non-profit organization, founded in 2006 with the objective of uniting and strengthening Brazilian and non Brazilian business communities, especially in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties, where leaders with different backgrounds work to expand their business and create new revenue opportunities. BBG is also represented in Brazil and Japan, where positive initiatives are being implemented.

BBG is a reference in the market for strategically connecting with trustees and members in a personalized way to understand their visions and challenges. Thereby becoming one of the important differentials of the group, which in addition to prioritizing professional training and engagement in social responsibility causes, brings many benefits to the entire business ecosystem.

Our mission is to bring together Brazilian business people and their families, within and outside of the United States, through a representative, active and competitive organization which aims at the economic development of their national communities as well as their integration into their hostess societies, always in an orderly, respectful and efficient manner. BBG welcomes all individuals and organizations of good will regardless of their nationalities, creed, color, age or any other prejudice, to share our common ideals.


The BBG believes education is the foundation of society and is essential to citizenship. Among its social commitments, the BBG gives priority to education, to help and support Brazilian families in educating their children.

The BBG also promotes and encourages a contact network. We support other institutions, causes and related activities that are compatible with our principles and seek partnerships with other groups to consolidate the business community.


The organization encourages the formation of future multicultural professionals by investing its efforts in educational programs to provide opportunities for Brazilians to better integrate in South Florida. At the same time, it will establish a source of technical and specialized workers, possessing knowledge gained while living and working in the United States, which will contribute to the formation of a Brazilian entrepreneurial center in the region.

Member of the Permanent Council and Founder – ALOYSIO VASCONCELLOS, graduated in Law from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management, USA. Postgraduate in International Trade at the University of Paris, Sorbonne, France.

Member of the Interamerican Bar Association, Washington, DC and of the Brazilian Bar Association, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Former Vice-President of Citibank N.A. – Brazil / USA, where he held positions in the Legal, Corporate and Private Banking sectors; Legal and Financial Consultant at Embratel Participações SA, Brazil, and at the Brazilian Navy's Joint Staff (CASNAV); Exxon Brazilian Oil Corporation and Xerox Corporation – Latin American Group, Stamford, USA.

Former President of the Brazilian Assembly of American Commerce in Florida; Director of the Assembly of Commerce in the Brazil-America Center in Florida (BACCF in Portuguese); Member of the Board of Directors of United Arts of Central Florida; President of the Council of Brazilian Citizens of Florida; Director of the Assembly of Portuguese Commerce – USA, New York; Director of the American Portuguese Society, New York; Rotary Club President, Harrison, New York. He is also the founder and former president of the Brazilian Business Group (BBG).

Currently, President of Westchester International Corp. and President of Brazil International Foundation, Florida; Member of LASA – Association of Latin American Studies; Associate Researcher at UFF – Fluminense Federal University / Institute of Strategic Studies – INEST, Brazil. He speaks English, Portuguese, French and Spanish. Author of several published articles and speaker at universities in Brazil, USA and Europe, covering business and commerce; international relations with an emphasis on integration between Brazilian diasporas abroad and Continental Brazil.


Ahpaly Coradin, is the director of Coradin Law P.A., an international law firm in Miami, FL. Ahpaly represents US and foreign companies in international transactions, establishing and acquiring new businesses, project financing, corporate governance and market expansion. 

He advises private investors in a variety of areas including natural resources, green energy, real estate development, tourism and trade. Ahpaly has extensive business experience from large international law firms, private practice and business. He specializes in providing legal advice that addresses the underlying business objectives, concerns and risks. 

Ahpaly is an experienced communicator and advisor, working in English, Portuguese, French, Spanish and Japanese, and has extensive cultural knowledge and extensive business experience across multiple continents. He is also an experienced mediator and qualified arbitrator in the State of Florida. Ahpaly earned his bachelor's degree from Columbia University and his doctor of law degree from Harvard Law School.


Specialist in international taxation and business consultancy involving the tax preparation of corporations, companies, high net worth individuals and a variety of other tax solutions. João (“JOE”) Gomes is an International Tax Partner of RVG & Company. João uses his extensive knowledge of US taxation along with his international tax experience to provide global solutions and consulting services to our clients. 

He is passionate about helping domestic and foreign entities and individuals achieve their financial goals. He works closely with the Brazilian community and acts as an innovative tax leader. João started his career working for the fifth largest accounting firm in the world. 

He received a bachelor's degree in accounting and a master's degree in taxation from Florida Atlantic University. His other certifications include IRS Enrolled Agent (EA) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). John is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Florida and an expert in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.


Maria Ravani is a Brazilian born in Minas Gerais, she studied at the UFMG Law School.

Maria is the president and CEO of Genius Communications Group and for 18 years has been editor-in-chief of Revista Sobre Rodas, a Portuguese publication on automobiles, motorcycles, aviation and tourism.

One of her main jobs is to test and write reviews on new cars that will hit the market even before they reach the dealership.

She is one of the directors of SAMA (Southern Automotive Media Association), where there are more than 120 journalists specialized in the automotive industry.

Maria Ravani is also a volunteer in some charitable organizations in Miami, working for the well-being of the people!


Brazilian born in Rio de Janeiro, she studied at Universidade Santa Úrsula with a specialization in Psychology. She started her career in the retail industry at an early age.

In 1988, she moved to the United States, where she completed several courses at Broward Community College and Florida Atlantic University.

She worked in the retail sector as a buyer, manager and director of retail operations before starting her career in the financial sector.

She is a former vice president of Bank Of America, where she held the positions of branch manager, market growth leader for the North Broward region, and manager of premium clients. Currently at Bank Atlantic, she has been Vice President / Market Manager of the Deerfield branches since 2006.

Monica loves volunteering in the Brazilian community and has served on the City of Deerfield Beach Census Committee, she is currently a member of the Rotary Club Boca Raton West and a member of the Board of the Pompano Beach Commerce Assembly.


Pierre Taschereau is the International Client Manager for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance. In his role, Pierre is the point of contact for issues regarding state and local incentives related to capital investment, job creation and retention, and workforce needs such as recruitment services and training grants. 

His typical customers are international companies from target sectors such as; aviation / aerospace, marine, information technology, life sciences, manufacturing, logistics and transportation seeking business opportunities in Broward County. Pierre serves on the Board of Directors of the South Florida Aviation Maintenance Council and the Southeast Florida Best Investment Section. 

Prior to joining the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance in 2013, Mr. Taschereau held the position of One Stop Center Assistant Manager at CareerSource Broward. His previous careers in hospitality, healthcare, financial services, workforce development, along with his fluency in Spanish, French and English, have helped him greatly in his current position. Pierre holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in business administration from Nova Southeastern University. 

Mr. Taschereau is a certified Workforce Development Professional and has completed all course work to be a Certified Economic Developer with the International Economic Development Council.

Fernando Mello é empresário, consultor de empresas e business broker na Flórida, com 20 anos de carreira executiva multi-nacional, e mais de 15 anos como empreendedor no Brasil e EUA. Graduado em Computer Technologies e MBA.

Russell Weaver, a Fort Lauderdale native, is the second generation in this family to become a commercial real estate agent at NAI Rauch, Weaver, Norfleet, Kurtz & Co. Using his experience in South Florida's dynamic market and carefully watching trends that affect our area, he brings value and integrity to all of his customers.

As president of Greater Fort Lauderdale Sisters Cities International and co-chair of Tower Club Internationals, Russell works closely with the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, Greater Fort Lauderdale Assembly of Commerce, Broward County and the City of Fort Lauderdale to promote Broward County highlights for Miami-based consulates and binational chamber of commerce organizations. During these monthly international meetings, many new business and government relations were established, highlighting Fort Lauderdale and Broward County as a world-class destination.

Russell helped to reinvigorate several Fort Lauderdale sister city relationships and was also instrumental in establishing Fort Lauderdale's first Asian sister city with Kaohsiung, Taiwan. In addition to student exchanges that bring children from around the world, Russell helped reorganize the Greater Fort Lauderdale Sister Cities council to be a more effective organization.

Growing up in South Florida, Russell attended New High School in Davie, Florida, and graduated his senior year of high school from Mercersburg Academy in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania. He received his BS in East Asian Studies from George Washington University and spent nearly four years living in Osaka, Japan, studying Japanese.

During the weekends, Russell enjoys sailing his Hobie Cat at Fort Lauderdale Beach and swimming with the Swim Fort Lauderdale Masters team.

Vera Schäfer is the founder of Brasileirinho.com, a gateway for Portuguese-speaking customers who live, study or visit the US. A centralized hub to help Brazilians living in the United States learn more about entrepreneurship and life abroad.

She helps Brazilians living abroad to sell their products and services (B2B or B2C). She leveraged her web design knowledge, on the WordPress CMS platform, to help others build their own platforms to promote their businesses or themselves.

She guides users through their websites, describing everything that can be done or improved, and helps them map a way forward so they can build better customer experiences.

She loves talking about social media and how it can help people's businesses succeed.


Nascida em New York, Alessandra Leme é jornalista e consultora de comunicação e marketing. Pós-graduada em Broadcasting pela Barry University e em Marketing pela ESPM – Escola Superior de Progaganda e Marketing. Graduada em Comunicação Social pela UFBA e em Administração de Empresas pela UNIFACS. Atuou no Brasil em canais de televisão e agências de propaganda e por mais de 15 anos como produtora nos depts. de Creative Marketing no Discovery Channel e HBO Latin America na Flórida. Compõe a diretoria da Associação Brasileira de Imprensa Internacional – ABI Inter e do Board do Focus Brasil Foundation, onde é coautora do Communitty in Action Awards que reconhece instituições que fazem a diferença na comunidade.


Andrea Faria has a degree and a master's degree in Information Science from the Federal University of Minas Gerais.

She has participated in several seminars and events in the area of information management, doing specialized training at Stanford University, UCLA and USC.

She began her professional career at the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais and worked at Rede Sarah Hospitals, where she held leadership positions.

In 1998, she took on the position of CEO of Airtrade Aviation and is still CEO today.

She has been with the BBG since its foundation and held the position of Director of Events for the terms of 2008-2010 and 2010-2012, and became President in 2012-2014.
